The Tanzania Institute of Education (TIE) is a public institution under the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (WyEST) established under the Act of Parliament No. 13 of 1975 (Revised 2002). Starting in 2009, TIE was made a Non-University Higher Education Institution through registration with the National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NACTVET) with number REG/040.
